Women’s Golf Championship Round 2 – Interview with Houston Head Coach Gerrod Chadwell

PALM COAST, Fla. – Houston climbed one spot on the leaderboard Monday and holds a one-shot lead in the team standings following the second day of competition at the 2017 American Women’s Golf Championship at the Conservatory Course at Hammock Beach Resort & Golf Club.

The third and final round of the championship will begin Tuesday at 8 a.m. ET. An awards ceremony and trophy presentation will take place shortly following the conclusion of the final round.

The American Digital Network (ADN) will have live coverage of the 18th hole during the final round of the championship beginning at 11 a.m. ET. Once competition is complete, the ADN will carry the awards ceremony, as well as player and coaches interviews.

The Cougars shot a second-round best 282 on Monday and currently lead the field with a 4-under 572 (290-282). Houston’s round of 282 is the lowest 18-hole total in American women’s golf championship history. UCF set the previous low of 284 on Sunday.

UCF is the runner-up and is one stroke behind the Cougars with a 573 (284-289), while SMU is in third with a 580 (290-290).

Houston’s Leonie Harm (66-70) continues to leads the field with an 8-under 136. Just one stroke separates the next four individuals as Ashley Cassidy (Cincinnati) and Ashley Holder (UCF) tied for second at 4-under 140, while Maria Balcazar (UCF) and Brigitte Dunne (SMU) come in at fourth with a 3-under 141. Cassidy and Holder shot identical scores of 69 and 71 in the first two rounds. East Carolina’s Siranon Shoomee shot the low round of the day on Monday with a 68.
